---Historic Background-----
In Feb 1942, The Japanese began the invasion of Sumatra. A force of transports, supported by the aircraft carrier Ry?j? and land based aircraft from Banga Island, made its way through the Banga straits to the mouth of the Moesi river. On the 13th Japanese Paratoroops were dropped west of the Pladjoe refineries as Japanese bombers struck at the City and the allied Airfield to the west. The follwing morning, Japanese landing craft made their ashore and up the Moesi river for the planned direct assault Palambang. In a furious air battle, the landing force was attacked by Hudsons and Blenhiems bombers escorted by Hurricanes and Buffalos of the RAF. The British aircraft, attacking the ships and machine gunning the landing craft inflicted heavy losses to the seaborne landing force but ultimately were unsuccessful in stopping the invasion. on the afternoon of 15 February, all remaining Allied aircraft were ordered to Java, where a major Japanese attack was also anticipated and the Dutch and British troops were ordered to withdrew to Ooshaven for evacuation. Allied air units had withdrawn from southern Sumatra by the evening 16 February 1942.

**Read the mission brief for more info.  Good luck. **
