Friday, March 8, 2013 - 22:00hrs Central US. (11:00pm Eastern US; 3:00am GMT)
Server: ** Spits v. 109s HSFX** ( 69.90.34.220:21055)
Teamspeak Server IP= 69.90.34.220 Password = falcon9

**You need HSFX 6.0.17**

This week's Bomber Night mission is called "Operation Kadesh".

This is a re-run of one we ran last year, now modified for HSFX.  I hope to have two more Suez Crisis special/bomber missions run this month.  A special thanks to CountZero who figured out a back-door way of adding Israeli and Egyptian markings in HSFX.

After the nationalization of the Suez Canal by Egypt under Nasser, the British, French, and Israeli forces launch semi-coordinated attacks against Egypt.  The Israeli offensive, known as Operation Kadesh, seeks to conquer Gaza and the entire Sinai peninsula.

In this mission, Israeli armored-mechanized forces are advancing upon a small oasis village, en route to Suez.  Egyptian armored forces are converging upon the oasis to mount a defense.

Egyptian forces are travelling along the eastside canal road, and, near the front lines, are behind (west of) the GREEN lights and GREY smoke.  Israeli forces are travelling upon the interior road to the southwest, and are behind (east of) the RED lights and WHITE smoke.  The opposing armored forces will engage in combat.

Red (Israel) has airstarts at two easternmost bases, and groundstart at other base; Blue (Egypt) has an airstart at the middle base, and groundstarts at the other bases.  Airstarts are at 1,000m.

This is a low-level, tactical mission, with jabo options for most aircraft.  There is an optical/visual error which makes farther-away land look blocky and dark brown when at higher altitudes

Due to aircraft-type limitations, the F-86 variants are to be viewed as stand-ins for the Dassault Mystere and Ouragan aircraft, and the Me-262 is used as a stand-in for the Gloster Meteor.

   The planeset is as follows:

Israel:

F-51D-30NA (it's great for ground attack; it can compete with the jets - just ask Big Hog who downed a MiG-15 in a KTO mission flying the F-51)
F-86A5
F-86F25E

v.

Egypt:

Me-262A-2a
MiG-15(bis)
MiG-15(bis)late
MiG-17 (not completely accurate, but has bomb loadout options)

Please enjoy and let me know your comments.  Here is a screenshot of the battle area.

Dear Mackstone!

I so thoroughly enjoyed the Jet action over Sinai Peninsula today.

It was simply an awesome map, mission, and players.

Multiple Jets from both sides really made the experience the best!

Thank so much!!

this was most likely an excellent mission to fly.....

the curse of bomber night works in mysterious ways though,

trying to shake off a headache, i layed back on my sofa.....  somehow fell asleep, and managed to sleep from eight o clock...
until 11:30....   the curse wakes you up sometimes just tot let you know that you've just been f******.
so thank's to the almighty and everpresesnt Curse Of Bomber Night, i missed out on this mission, making this somewhere around the 20th consecutive failed friday night.
tomorrow i will surely wake up, shake off the facts, and anxiously await next friday, like always.

One of my kids had a sleep-over party and took over the room in which I fly  Angry Sad, so I missed Bomber Night as well.

I'm glad it seemed to work.  I'll re-run it again later.

I didn't do air-to-air missiles in this one.  I wanted to keep the fight low, with some dogfighting required, in an effort to give the jabos a better chance of survival.  Based upon the stats, it looks like the Mustangs did very well in the midst of the jets, getting most of the ground kills and 1/2 an aerial kill.  I was a little surprised that the MiGs didn't do better on aerial kills, since the MiGs usually seem to have an advantage over Sabres; however, now that I think of it, the MiGs have incredible climbing ability which might come into play better at higher altitudes.

I have created a jet v. jet mission, on another desert-coastal map with easy navigation, that will have air-to-air missiles to both sides.  We'll run that in the future.

Next week, we'll go back to WW2.  I've got several alternatives from which to choose.  I'm leaning toward a Bastogne/Bulge mission, with P-47s attacking advancing German armor through snow and low clouds.

thanks for good BN map, was fun to play, and their was a loot of players on both sides

map finished to early, and main fault for that goes to two brave OCA F-51 players, who finished red objectives under heavy MiG attacks, weary good job guys S~

nice we didn't have missiles i relay like guns only fights in thouse jets, i think missiles we have in this game are just to accurate then they should be...

and of topic, would be nice to have one Korea era map in rotation on zeke's vs wildcat's server for us jet lovers, i hope thats not mutch to ask Smiley
