*THIS IS BOMBER NIGHT*
This week's Bomber Night mission is called "Green Wave".
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TIME IS GOING BACK TO THE ORIGINAL 11:00 P.M., EASTERN U.S. TIME.
The featured bomber is the B-17F. This mission recreates Eighth Air Force bomber raids on occupied France during early 1944. It is set on Canon's Channel (beta) map.
This mission also includes an enormous "bomber stream" of 96 AI B-17s that travels in a big loop from near the B-17 airspawn at Margate, to the targets at Lille and Amiens, and then back to Margate, and then repeat the route throughout the mission. The bomber stream gives human bomber pilots an opportunity to join in a larger formation. The bomber stream is stretched out (to help with fps), which also means that the bomber stream takes about 15-20 minutes to travel past the airspawn, and then comes back about every 15-20 minutes. The mission is called "Green Wave" since the green B-17Fs keep coming, wave after wave after wave.
Escorts include the P-47D-27, P-51D-5NT, P-38J-10, Spitfire IXc HF, and Spitfire IXc LF CLP. The escorts are unlimited. Since we're in a Channel scenario, within Spitfire range, Spitfires are suitable for escorts. There are airstarts for the escort fighters.
The targets are factory complexes at Lille and Amiens. The large power-plant facilities are the primary targets. The AI bombers fly by them, but do not drop bombs. The Lille target is on the southwest side of the city, and the Amiens target is on the northwest side of the city. The targets don't have lots of explosive items, so you will need good drops; however, there are high-value vehicles there.
The Bf-109G-5 (with 30mm nose cannon option at ground-start) and Fw-190A-4 are the defenders. The G-5 has an optional airstart.
A screenshot of the basic mission layout, and recon photos of the targets are included.
WARNING: Since there are lots of AI aircraft, if you experience lag or fps issues, or have trouble connecting, try a different .exe setting, or (try this first) lower your graphics setting one level (e.g.- Excellent to High).
Please fly and enjoy, and let me know any comments you might have.

Thanks for flying. That was lots of fun, and few people seemed to have fps issues (with about 100 AI heavy-bombers, mind you). It was one of the my best Bomber Night, stats-wise ever, since in the two runnings of the mission I got almost 5,000 points flying the B-17, and got 2 kills in 109 and 4 kills (and a damaged) in a 190, for 2400 points there. I survived each sortie, which is a BN record for me.
I appreciate the feedback I received during the mission. I've taken notes and will be make some changes to the mission, and try to re-run it as a Special Mission (i.e.- a more balanced mission than a Bomber Night mission). If you have other comments, please let me know.

Some VR members were able to make it in. FPS were fine for all. Had a lot of fun. The only comment was, why limit the MK108 from the airstart 109s?

Simply because it was a Bomber Night, and I wanted to give the human bombers a better chance.
I've done a revised version of the mission as a Special Mission, and we'll try to run it again. I've given Blue better aircraft options and loadouts.
