I have a new problem for me with freezes every time I do crash / died.

I was flying on Spit MOD server, mission Goodwood UP30. Planes Bf-109G-6_Erla and Bf-109G-10_Erla. Every time I was crashed or was shot down, I have had freeze just at start of "crash" external view (the hole and the flames) or max when pressed Refly (button animation "pressed" and freeze then). With one exception the sorties ended in log with "Sortie End - Disconnected" info.

After the first death I have tried to change IL2 initial parameters (e.g. limiting those memory size to 256 or so, and/or disabling experten options), After another - some plays with nVidia settings. No success. I have removed cache files, not sure if I tried that chance as it was in the middle of the night Wink

Any ideas what to change? I do run now Windows 7 64b now after the computer update. Game is set to work on core 4, FreeTrack on 3, the rest placed differently, FPS high, no microfreezes etc. etc. Seems to be just fine, at least offline! Maybe I should run it with admin priviledges? Or compatibility mode? I was running the game previously and have not noticed the problems, maybe I simply did not die Wink

Ah yes!!   I have been having a similar problem for some time now!  I found it only happens on Blue planes and is normally associated with bailing out of certain bf 109s.  I have not tested all MKs.  I thought I had a settings problem too because I have been running IL2 under Windows 7 x 64 since it came out and the problem only appeared around a month ago.

In my case if I bail out above a certain speed, I die and the screen goes black and game freezes and I have to shut down the game using task manager. Like you it says I have disconnected.  Remember it is only a Blue planes and specifically bf109s, although I have not tested 190s.  I tested the phenomenon  rigorously and found that if I selected bail out with repeated key presses and above a certain speed (I do not have a figure) this is when it happened. I could not believe what was happening, so I enlisted Faust's help and he found exactly the same off line.

You will be able to reproduce it off line if you try the bf109s you state above, and fly very fast and bail with multiple key presses.

I have a test server running at home and we can try it together on TS and any mission if you wish to take it any further.

Indeed the same symptoms here: black screen, freeze, manual killing needed. And indeed never seen before, and only now in late Bf-109. I will try it offline and online again.

Hmm now we are at a spot on some trouble that I do second.

As you knows Gunny I am not the " ace of comps " not even a good pilot but,, I do have some trouble I do run W7 64, I7 2600k, 8 gig ram, 6970, ram set to 512 and by that I cant join the Doinerkielmap but when set ram to 256 I can join but black out to desktop after hit fly, and crash, I cant fly Doinerkeilmap no longer.

And this is only this map.

Often in a map change I have a 1 sec back too desktop, then Dl map is ok. I have never sen this before. When I did update my comp I did not reinstall just swopt cpu, ram, MB,gpu and all runs good. Its just the trouble with Doinerkielmap, and I do not have any trouble with that new mission at same map, sry don't remember the name.

I will test the bailout from blueside.

Thunder out for the moment

I have checked offline Bf-109 G-10 on Normandy map and I have had no issues at all. Dying, bailing out, kamikaze attacks, always I could quit the mission with no application deadlock.

Online I have flew twice only, 109 in version G-3 on winter map with Caucasus mountains. No issue found. Refly button was always working after the death. The problem with this test is that I have used different Il2 directory than for offline tests, with a new Il2 selector version 2.2.2.2 installed, so the environment was a bit different.

Off line

I have just tested with the Bf109G10 and the Bf109G10-Erla on the Normandy map and as stated before, if I fly too fast around 550 kmh and initiate a bail out with multiple key presses, the canopy comes off and as I slow down (can take up to 30seconds)  the screen goes black indicating death.  In the last tests the game did not freeze.

It is best to use the same game directory configuration offline as you would online, otherwise you are introducing another variable.

I will check it offline: Bf as you wrote, Normandy map, and the same action. I have just recall that there was another trick I have tried - I removed all the cache files, skins cache and mission one... Maybe it matters as well? Anyway I will test it offline today...

I do confirm that I have no problems with G-10 offline. Bailing-out with a high speed jettisons canopy but the pilot is not jumping out unless the speed is below 500 km/h. If it is not lower, the plane finally meets the ground, crashes and the mission ends. If the speed drops down, the pilot jumps out, everything is fine. In both cases Quit is possible, as well Refly if wished... I have checked the version without a new Il2 Selector, but with a cache cleared before.

Go to the admin forum and see my MDS testing.  There is still a problem and it appears to be multiple key presses for eject/bail.

Do any of you have the log.lst log file enabled (log=1 in conf.ini)   Perhaps it will show an exception that is being generated when the game freezes.
